Every now and then there’s a project that reminds you of why you make art - this is one of them. It’s been so wonderful to come back to the collaboration we began in Underground Skills Exchange’s May 2024 Devising Lab. Under the steady guidance of facilitator/director Zeynep Akça and stage manager Ellery Cordes, my fellow ensemble members and I have transformed our real world woes and childhood joys into a wild and tender playground experience. We’re back together this month to revisit and refine what we created back in May and perform it once again as part of USE’s Speak ART Series 2024. We invite you all to come play with us on Thursday, September 19th!

Make Believe: The Playground of Experience is an original devised performance weaving together movement, music, and text. For this one-night-only event, our ensemble will explore the power of reconnecting with your inner child and the transformative joys of play. Come play with us as we celebrate self-love and self-discovery!
This performance is at Chain Theatre, located on 312 W. 36th St., 3rd Floor. Doors will open at 6:30 PM for a 7:00 PM performance start. This piece was directed/facilitated by Zeynep Akça, stage managed by Ellery Cordes, and features material and performances by Jen Diaz, Unique Jenkins Stephanie Litchfield, and Richard Perez.
