The Fantastical Fellowship: Final Quest for the Crisis Crystal XXVII @ FRIGID New York
Calling all heroes! The Fellowship needs YOU! Will you join our Quest to Save the Planet?
I cannot think of a better way to start 2024 than to hit the ground running with rehearsals for Andrew Agress’ delightfully zany and hilarious new play, The Fantastical Fellowship: Final Quest for the Crisis Crystal XXVII! I had such a blast playing Serapreya, The Last of the Dewin, in the staged reading last summer (at that time known as The Fantastical Seven), and I’m overjoyed to reprise my role as “The Chosen One” in this romp of a production directed by the very funny and witty Phoebe Brooks! Not to be missed are the dazzlingly virtuosic performances by fellow party members extraordinaire Patrick Elizalde, Mary Rose Go, Becky Ho, and Theo McKenna, who collectively play over 20 different characters (?!?) with gusto.
The Fantastical Fellowship tells the story of a magical heroine destined to save the planet…. until she fails and it’s up to her ragtag group of misfit friends to pick up the pieces. The show spoofs and celebrates everything from Final Fantasy to The Lord of the Rings and is chock full of silliness and joyful audience interaction. After all, saving the world isn’t just a job for one person.
We also invite you, the audience, to join in on the fun! Audiences will be able to influence what direction the story will take through voluntary verbal and written participation (there will be no physical interactions with performers). We encourage you to arrive to the theater early to contribute some written suggestions right before the show!
We are running Thursday & Fridays evenings from January 25th - February 9th at FRIGID New York’s Winter Festival at Under St. Mark’s Theater (94 St. Mark’s Place, New York, NY). Performances begin at 7PM and run for approximately 90 minutes. Please note that Under St. Mark’s is a stairs only venue and is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
